An oyster ship at Bluff with a limited haul, after storms halted oyster operations, photographed in June 1950 by a New Zealand Free Lance staff photographer. The two nets at the left of the vessel are attached to a heavy blade-like implement for prising loose oysters from the sea bed. (Source: "New Zealand Free Lance", 28/6/50)
