Portrait of Captain Henry Charles Talbot (fl 1856-1866) and Lieutenant Hamlet Wade Cuppage (fl 1861-1866) of the Forty Third Regiment (Monmouthshire Light Infantry) which served in New Zealand from 1863 to 1866. Photographed by an unknown photographer in the 1860s
Henry Charles Talbot joined the Forty Third Regiment on the 5th of September 1856 and was promoted Captain on the 8th of April 1865. Hamlet Wade Cuppage joined the regiment on the 18th of May 1861 and was promoted Lieutenant on the 30th of April 1864. (Info from Harts Army List, 1865, July-October, p 204).
