Exterior view of a railway sleeping car. Photographed by A P Godber at the Hillside Railway Workshops, in 1926.
Noted by the photographer, A P Godber, as being the first sleeping car built in New Zealand, built at the Hillside Railway Workshops, and exhibited at the Dunedin Exhibition 1926-1927. There is a note on the back of the file print which reads N.Z's first sleeping car, with "first" crossed out, and 1928 pencilled above (with no indication of where the change of date came from).
