The title page dates the register as commencing 1842. However, includes a record of the consecration of Selwyn as Bishop on 17 Oct 1841, his letters patent, valedictory letter from Archbishop of Canterbury and other correspondence regarding the new bishopric are all dated for 1841. Includes copies of acts of William Grant, Bishop of Australia, relating to New Zealand for 1839. From 1842, includes details of Selwyn's official activities and movements and record of decisions of the New Zealand Synod
