Wellington Sea Rescue Service craft "UDC Finance Rescue" beside the ferry Arahura. Colin Ross, the rescue service's treasurer, holds a $3000 cheque painted on a plank that had been lowered from the ferry's bridge. Photographed 2 August 1990 by Evening Post staff photographer John Nicholson.
