A cadastral map of rural lands open for selection for lease in perpetuity, of the area from the Puaroa Stream to Taharoa to Ohau Bay on the Kawhai Harbour, to Kinohako West and the Tawarau River. This base map has numbered sections, some have been coloured, and include acreages, owners' names and dates handwritten in each section. A cutting about section 4 is mounted on the bottom left of the main map and includes the relevant poster number and date.

The base map is of sections in the Kawhia County. Auckland land district No. 605. A schedule of the second class surveyed land is referred to in a key. The site of the Marokopa Dairy Co. and Piripiri Cave are marked, vegetation and terrain are named. Native land is marked. A schedule of second class land is referred to in a key and include the section number, acreage and rent. Instructions to applicants and a caution follow the with the printed name of Gerhard Mueller, Commissioner of Crown Lands. A statement on the left side of the map begins 'second class surveyed land, 15.868 acres'. Includes the application date of 8th. April 1902 and the decision by ballot at the Town Hall, Te Awamutu.

The inset map is a locality plan of the area from Helensville to Hawke's Bay.
