The text of a poem to Rangi Koa, the wife of artist J. J. Merrett, with four verses of ten lines each. Five Maori words used in the poem are explained below
Most of the draft text is written out in Merrett's hand on p. 37 of the album (A-275-003-1). This copy, in copperplate script is on the verso of Merrett's painting of his wife.
