Overlooking Flinn's Homestead at Wairahi Bay, Port Fitzroy Harbour on Great Barrier Island. Photograph probably taken by Henry Winkelmann, between circa 1914-1928.
William and Charlotte Flinn landed on the beach with 2 boys, a bag of flour and not much else at some time between 1859-1861. Along with John Moor they may have been the first permanent settlers at Port Fitzroy. Early settlement of Port Fitzroy Great Barrier Island / Cyril Moor, 1987, p.42.
