Hydroelectric station at Roxburgh under construction, circa 14 September, 1955. Photographer unidentified.
Caption on back of file print reads "Former River-bed. Men, lower centre, are working in the "gullet", where the river formerly ran. Now it passes through a diversion cut on the far side of the dam. Left foreground is the power-house inside which can be seen one of the turbines. Right foreground and in centre of the picture are some of the penstocks which feed water to the turbines, and beyound are the ridges of the spillways."
