Description

The cartoon shows an outline of the North Island and the top of the South Island of New Zealand. At Auckland a rugby player is standing and staring down towards Wellington. At Wellington a rugby player, standing on the Ranfurly Shield, is rolling up his sleeves looking towards Auckland saying, 'You may dominate the north, you may dominate the south, but just try to dominate the middle bit!' Refers to New Zealand provincial rugby and the Ranfurly Shield and to rivalry between Auckland and the rest of the country.
