Photograph taken from a published map of the allied campaign in Gallipoli, Turkey, between 1915 and 1916. The caption to the map reads: `The latest battle, recorded in to-night's cables, was found to the south-east of Krithia, in the valley of the Saghir Dere. The New Zealanders are stationed round Gaba Tepe, to the north of the British and French lines.'
