A standing caricature of Christchurch barrister, poet, writer and actor, O T J Alpers. He is shown formally dressed, his wig on a stand in front of him. Behind him are two books, 'Jubilee rhymes' and 'Progress of N Z', along with a theatrical mask, crossed fencing foils, a scroll bearing the words Pygmalion, Malvolio, Scrap Paper, Fools Paradise, and another scroll with the words Jubilee ode, suggesting his interests and activities
