- Description
A gum diggers hut, with a sod chimney, in Kaitaia, Sunday, 1 August, 1914. Three men sit outside, the one on the left holds a piano accordion. Joseph Kenworthy is in the centre, peeling potatoes, and the man on the right is smoking and reading a newspaper. Billy cans, buckets, shovels and gum digging equipment are visible. Taken by Arthur Northwood.
