Binding: early 16th-century? binding in a dark leather over 5mm wooden (possibly oak) boards, evidence of centre and corner bosses on the upper and lower boards and two clasps on the fore-edge, knife-cornering on the turn-ins; upper and lower boards have the same rectangular blind-stamped panel design, made with fillets and small square and circular tools; spine, partly detached, has four single raised bands and a central double split raised band, the alum-tawed thongs laced into the boards, the second compartment has gold-tooled title 'Johannes de Turrecremata in Psalterium', third compartment has gold-tooled 'Argentinae 1482 '; endbands, with secondary bands of tanned leather tied down at every gathering. Covers repaired. Endpapers watermarked with unicorn, bull's head devices.

Provenance: rubricated in red and blue, with initials, initial strokes, paragraph marks, and underlines, some paragraph marks at base of columns have flourish extending into tail margin. Front and back endleaves have ms. inscriptions in several different early hands, including a list of the possessions of the monastery of Saint Bertin in Saint-Omer, and a list of German bishops.
