Text printed in gothic type in double columns on paper watermarked with letter P surmounted by quatrefoil, bull's head with crown (Briquet 14588), mountain surmounted by cross (similar to Briquet 11776 and 11791).

Binding: calf, blind tooled dog-tooth roll around perimeter on upper and lower covers, spine gold tooled with decorated compartments, raised spine bands, gold tooled leather spine label, red text edges. Upper cover partly detached. Spine title: Giller Postilla Opera?

Provenance: rubricated with initials and paragraph marks in red or blue, initial strokes in red, initial on leaf [3]r in red, blue and green, with penwork extending into inner margin. Inscription in brown ink on leaf 2a deleted in black ink. Former owner Jeremiah Purcell O'Reily (1805-1880). Book stamp 'Ex libris Seminarii' of temporary seminary for Society of Mary, Wellington, also known as the Te Aro Library, shelf mark sticker of subsequent owner St Patrick's College, Wellington on front pastedown, subsequently held Colin Library, Mt. St. Mary's Seminary, Greenmeadows, Taradale. Deposited on permanent loan in the ATL by the Society of Mary, December 2001. Some browning, wormholes affecting text leaves 28-34, some water stains. Accompanied by typescript slip with bibliographical details. Acc. 352582.
