In clam-shell boxes covered with half red goatskin, gold tooled with single fillet, red buckram, gold crest of AH. Turnbull on upper lids, gold tooled spine with spine title: Vinegar Bible. Provenance: armorial bookplate of Francis Lord de Dunstanville; presentation inscription to A.R. Atkinson from Nancy Astor April 15th 1920, on front fly-leaf; presentation label to the ATL from Miss J. Atkinson 16th Nov. '62 on upper pastedown. Accompanied by handwritten letter to Lady Astor, dated 6 Nov 1920; typed letter to A.R. Atkinson, in stamped envelope dated 1929, signed Nancy Astor. Library's copy ruled in red throughout. Acc. 399980-399981.

Provenance: inscription on upper pastedowns: Dupplin Castle with call mark, vol. 1 has catalogue extract pasted onto upper pastedown; ownership inscription on vol. 2 front fly-leaf: P.J. Wright, 1723/4. Deposited in the ATL on permanent loan by the Bible Society in New Zealand, 1978. Acc. 343567-343568.
