Originally issued in 36 parts between 1840 and 1848.

The set includes plates of the huia (Neomorpha gouldii) (v. IV pl. 19); two species of kiwi (Apteryx australis and A. oweni) (v. VI pl. 2 and 3); and the spotted shag (Phalacrocorax punctatus) (v. VII pl. 71). Cf. Bagnall.
