The Alexander Turnbull Library SPC copy. Binding: contemporary German blind-tooled pigskin over bevelled wooden boards; both covers with roll-tooled outer frame signed C G and dated 1539 (C.G. is probably either either Caspar Genseler (d.1588) or Christoph Georg (fl. 1559), both of Wittemberg. Cf. Haebler). Double raised spine bands, spine panels with elaborate blind tooled decoration; engraved brass clasps with remains of leather straps on the lower cover; spine lining of rubricated vellum. Date of binding, 1546, stamped into date space towards bottom edge of upper cover. Provenance: inscription on front pastedown obscured by ATL bookplate; ownership inscription on t.p.; presentation slip on upper pastedown "Donated to the Alexander Turnbull Library by Mrs A.L. Barker in 1945." Accompanied by letter from British Library (Nov. 4, 1945) and 2 slips with bibliographical information. Acc. 144373.
