Binding: dark red crushed morocco, ornate geometric gold frames on upper and lower covers built from small fleuron tools leaving central diamond shaped space around armorial of Alex H. Turnbull. Spine gold tooled with decorated compartments, raised spine bands, gold tooled edges and turn-ins, marbled endpapers, text edges gilt over red sprinkled pattern. Binder's stamp on turn-in of upper cover "Bound by Zaehnsdorf 1914", binder's gilt seal stamped on lower pastedown. Provenance: bookplate with coronet on front flyleaf, pencil note in handwriting of Alex H. Turnbull attributing bookplate to "Earl of Cork, Chas. Boyle." Acc. 363538.
