Spine title: Character of the Long Parliament. Binder's stamp: "Bound by Zaehnsdorf 1907." Blind stamp on lower pastedown. Text printed on watermarked paper. Provenance: bookplate of Alex H. Copy 2. Binding: 1/2 brown morocco, blind tooled, marbled nonpareil paper boards, spine stamped with title in gold, marbled nonpareil endpapers. Text printed on watermarked paper. Spine title: Milton on the Long Parliament &c. Acc. 343595.

Copy 3. Binding: dark blue crushed morocco, upper and lower covers gold tooled with quadruple fillet, stamped in gold with one of the armorial devices of Alexander Turnbull, spine gold tooled, raised spine bands, gold tooled edges and decorated turn-ins, blue silk doublures, text edges gilt. Text printed on paper watermarked with the arms of France and Navarre, papermaker "Conar." Binder's stamp "Bound by Zaehsnsdorf." Blind stamp on lower pastedown. Spine title: John Milton's Character of the Long Parliament. Provenance: bookplate of Alex H. Turnbull. Acc. 343596.
