Explores how the traditional roles and functions of Pacific women and men have changed due to modernisation and the influence of Western culture. In particular, the video focuses on how women in Melanesia, Micronesia, Polynesia and French Polynesia have undertaken different roles in the community, politics, the church and their own families as they build "a middle road" between empowerment and the preservation of traditional customs and values.
