Binding: crushed brown morocco, upper and lower covers tooled in gold to panel design; two outer fillets enclose built-up corners of curving lines, and dots in honey-suckle flowers and leaves design, smaller line, dot and leaf design at hinge and fore-edges; spine gold tooled with leaf design, gold tooled edges and decorated turn-ins, green, purple and blue paste endpapers, untrimmed top and fore-edges, bound in with large number of extra blank sheets. Front turn-in stamped: Morrell binder. Slip from publisher's catalogue tipped in. Spine title: Laus veneris. Swinburne. Provenance: purchased by Alex H. Turnbull in 1907 from Bernard Quaritch (c.f.
