He paints small flags on the Scoreboard with stencil and a paint spray. The squadron s total of "kills" when the photograph was taken ivas 154 planes shot down. The squadron, led by Lieut.-Commander J. T. Blackburn, U.S.N., is known as "Blackburn's Irregulars." (Evening Post, 13 April 1944)
