Date: 2012

From: Evans, Malcolm Paul, 1945- :Digital cartoons

By: Press (Christchurch, N.Z.)

Reference: DCDL-0023255

Description: Gang members, with Red Devils insignia, loom over an embarrassed Minister of Police, Anne Tolley, and a senior police officer. The caption 'Red faces' hangs over their heads. In October 2012, a case set up by the Organised and Financial Crime Agency of New Zealand (Ofcanz) against the Red Devils, a Nelson-based motorcycle gang, had to be abandoned, as the police had acted improperly in orchestrating the false arrest of an undercover officer without the knowledge of the defence lawyer or court. This followed on from the botched raid on Kim Dotcom, which had involved the same officers. Quantity: 2 digital cartoon(s).
