Context: The Crafar farms are New Zealand's Largest Independent Dairy Farming Company. The farms were put into receivership in October 2009. The cartoon refers to the controversy over the offer to purchase that was made by Shanghai-based company Pengxin International Group Limited which was approved by the Overseas Investment Office. The High Court set aside the decision and ordered the Government to consider the application again. There is strong objection by many New Zealanders about selling land to foreigners.
