Description: Photographs of Graham and Elsie Massingham at various localities in New Zealand. Graham Massingham and his wife came out from England in the late 1920s. The 1928 Wises Post Office Directory describes Massingham as a company manager and lists him as living in Dunedin at 34 Dundonald street, Andersons Bay. Later in the 1930s he lived at 75a Grant Road, Wellington. He died on 20 November 1947. Quantity: 33 b&w original photographic print(s).

Description: Photographs of trips taken in the countryside, of bridges, rivers, streams, waterfalls, native forest, mountains, coastal scenery and other scenic views. There are a number of prints showing camp sites and tents some of which are identified as being at Otaki Forks and Lake Wairarapa. Fishermen with their nets on shore, yachts in sail, and men and boys in yachts. A series of prints records an a fun athletic sports day described as the "optical championships" which may relate to Cox's son George who was an optician in Wellington. There are two prints of early radio apperatus which also show station codes pinned to the wall, and there are several prints and negatives of George E Cox's opticians shop at 38 Willis Street, Wellington. Animals are represented by sheep, cows, dogs and birds. There are some prints of green house plants in pots and vases of flowers, people bathing, two war memorials, and picnic groups. There are also a number of portrait and group photographs. One of the groups is a cricket team.

Description: Mostly images of three Maori girls in traditional dress next to a pool, some showing them combing their hair and looking in a mirror. Also includes two copy negatives: one of Bella Papakura and a man giving a dramatic address to Maori onlookers outside a carved house and the other of two elderly men outside a carved house being approached by two women and captioned "The Story Tellers". There are also two images of ploughing with a team of six horses; a group of people outside a house; and a pool in the bush (these last four may not be connected to the others). Description: Mounted images with annotations from Albert Armitage Salmon's 1936-1937 trip to New Zealand. The images follow the route of Salmon and his companions' travels tramping and travelling from Franz Josepf Glacier to various locations in the North Island. Photographs taken by Salmon. - The photographs show aerial images of the South Island including Franz Josef Glacier and snowfields, Fox Glacier and nearby mountains and bush, and a series of images of Bert Salmon and Mary Hansen on the ice at Fox Glacier. Also includes views of Fox River, the Pancake Rocks at Punakaiki, Buller Gorge, a suspension bridge over the Buller River, and farmland near Nelson. - Photographs of the North Island show Chateau Tongariro and Mount Ruapehu in Tongariro National Park, views of Mount Ngauruhoe, including a copy of a photograph of the eruption of Ngauruhoe on 9 December 1934, and group portraits of Irene Booth, Mary Hansen, Eric Keehn, and Reg Booth playing in the snow on Mount Ruapehu. - Other images show views of the Waikato River at Huka Falls, the Aratiatia Rapids, and geothermal activity around Taupo and Rotorua. Images show geysers and mud pools at Wairakei, the Lady Knox Geyser erupting at Waiotapu, the exterior of the Rotorua bathhouse, and views of Whakarewarewa, including hot pools, thermal springs, boiling mud, and steam. One image shows a pataka (store house) at Whakarewarewa and local Maori women washing clothing outdoors in a hot pool. Another photograph shows Maori children bathing.
