Description: Poster advertising NAC flights shows a smiling snowman holding skis and a ski pole, in a mountains setting. The three luggage labels on the skis are for Queenstown, The Hermitage and Coronet Peak. In the clear blue sky above the snowman, flies an NAC DC3 plane. Artist of this poster is unknown but it is suggested that the style is similar to that of Linwood Lipanovic, who is known to have designed several posters for TEAL, a related airline (Darian Zam, email 24.10.2018) Inscriptions: Recto - bottom right - R G Sincock Quantity: 1 colour art print(s). Description: Shows part of an NAC Viscount jet prop aeroplane in the foreground, flying over Wellington Harbour in the evening, with a glowing orange sunset in the western sky. The city lights are reflected in the harbour. The poster is likely to date from 1959 or the early 1960s. Wellington Airport at Rongotai, from which this plane appears to be taking off was opened in 1959, and the the first Viscount jet prop aircraft were used in New Zealand from the mid-1950s. The border shows many small images of New Zealand objects: a pataka, kiwi, a carved Maori figure, a swordfish, ducks, whale, deer, glacier, wild boar, volcano, mountaineering boots, Mitre Peak, trout, fantail, geyser, skis, yachts and other images.
