The roof and fence of a house close to the water in the foreground. Possibly drawn in late 1846 when Crawford was on his way from Sydney to Wellington for his second visit to New Zealand. Taken from Judges Bay Reproduction of an original watercolour in the Alexander Turnbull Library (C-025-005) Believed to be a view from Hobson Bay until re-identified as Judges Bay in 2005. Compare Hoyte's view 'Mount Rangitoto from St George's Bay, Auckland, (reference number A-183-006) for a similar view, although the latter includes St Stephens' Chapel in Judge's Bay.
