Description: Shows Bishop Selwyn's House, Waimate North with a man sitting outside. Photograph taken ca 1912 by Northwood Brothers. Bishop Selwyn's house was erected in 1831. It was used by Bishop Selwyn as the first St. John's College in 1843. The roofline was changed to a gabled roof with large central dormer ca 1870s, and the shingled roof was replaced with iron ca 1912.
