Contains 44 cartoon sketches from army life and travels in Britain and France during World War 1, 4 pages of photographs of family members or friends(?) and of samples of signwriting, 18 leaves of cuttings of advertisements from overseas(?) magazines, 3 loose watercolours, and loose newspaper photograph cuttings (the last dated 1957). Newsletter of the Liberal Catholic Church, 1957, is one of loose items. Includes one sketch of head of wife Florence May Gregory on pedestal, and at least one caricature of her. Description: The cartoon shows a small island, New Zealand, with a small pipe reading, Motunui, dripping small amounts of pollution into the sea. Looking over their shoulders the New Zealanders notice a Frenchman from another island waving and saying hello. He is standing next to a pipe that reads, Mururoa, which is pouring huge amounts of pollution into the sea. The New Zealander's look shocked. Description: Primarily records of World War One service, comprising scrapbooks of correspondence, reports, documents, etc. Served as Captain with British army in France until captured at Vimy Ridge, May 1916; later served with Inter-allied Commission and British Red Cross Society, dealing with Russian prisoners in Germany. Unpublished autobiography, business correspondence, photographs, clippings, Juriss family records. The purpose of this was to try and join the RAF. There is another album of much the same period of a trip to the Pacific Islands.
