Description: Boys tending a garden crop in front of Guy House at Weraroa Boys Training Farm on Kimberley Rd, Levin. The instructor in a white shirt and hat is Mr M W Williams. Mrs Anne Williams stands with son Raymond in the doorway to the house. The boys' dormitory is to the left of this family home. Photograph taken circa 1913 by an unidentified photographer. Inscription on back of photograph states that the house has been demolished. According to the Horowhenua Historical Society, this information is incorrect (see http://horowhenuahistory.library.org.nz/exhibit1/e10256a.htm). "Clematis Cottage" became the Nurses' Home at Kimberley Hospital and Training School and in 2001 was being used as the Staff Education Centre. Title supplied by Library Inscriptions: Verso - Weraroa Boys Training Farm at Kimberly Rd Levin about 1913. Instructor in white shirt + hat Mr W Williams. Mrs Williams + son Raymond in door-way. This is Clematis cottage now non-existant, where the Williams family lived + boys dormitary to the left of cottage. Quantity: 1 b&w original photographic print(s). Physical Description: Silver gelatin print 15.3 x 10.9 cm Processing information: Descriptive information was updated in October 2016, changing the name from 'Clematis Cottage' to 'Guy House', following information from Te Takere in Levin, which also confirmed that both Clematis Cottage and Guy House are still standing.
