Description: A base cadastral map of Island Bay between Queen's Drive and The Esplanade, Selwyn, Jackson, Dover streets, the city boundary, the town belt, Lea and Rhone streets to Severn Street. Includes the proposed electric tramway route and sections for sale are marked. Named features include Baylis Proposed Wharf, Island Bay Hotel, properties of J. Reid Esq., R. Keene Esq., English Church, Public School, Presbyterian Church, Mr. Rowson's residence . Sections are numbered, some include boundary measurements. Streets are named and sites of some houses are marked. Two illustrations of Island Bay are printed on the top right and left of the map. The first shows the harbour taken from the sections for sale, while the second picture is a general view of Island Bay and includes some houses and fences. Annotations to the base map include highlighted subdivisions, some are marked 'Sold', include values in pounds sterling or boundary measurements. Additional numbered subdivisions are pencilled in between Adelaide Road and Clyde Street and include boundary measurements and sites of some houses. Some streets have been re-named. Knoll Street was crossed out, Tyne Street, was pencilled in, but Knoll Street remains and Brook Street was re-named Tyne Street. Shannon Street became Tiber Street. Milne Terrace and Cam Street have their names added, as has Moselle Street, the latter including a note referring to adjoining sections and District Plan No. 1199. The second map is a copy with ms annotations and measures 17.6 x 19.6 cm. and is mounted on the top left corner. It includes sixteen numbered sections with boundary measurements, adjoining Knoll Street, now known as Tyne Street, and Milne Terrace. The annotations are of values in pounds sterling The first manuscript map is mounted top centre, is a triangular map mounted adjacent to Severn Street. Thirteen numbered sections, with boundary measurements are shown, some marked as 'Sold' with values in pounds sterling, adjacent to Clutie Road. The second manuscript map is mounted top centre right and measures 21.1 x 26.1 cm. Includes numbered sections between The Parade and Derwent Street. One subdivision is marked Baylis Kiosk. The sea beach is marked. Names listed alongside the map refer to subdivisions 481/2/3/4 - Kingdom, Pilcher, Venables, E. C. Peers, H. Field, Barber, Butcher. Clutie Road has had its name changed since the drawing of this map. The new street name is not known Brook Street is now known as Tyne Street Base map: Plan of Island Bay, Wellington South. W. O. Beere, C.E., Authorised surveyor. Printed note on right of title of base map refers to a poll taken about a proposal for a loan to be taken out for the purpose and construction and extending the 'Electric Tramways' in the Island Bay District. Description: Hand-drawn map of the railway line from Taumarunui Station to an area north of Ongarue Station, following the course of the Ongarue River and adjacent to the Taranaki District. One block of land of 6000 acres, to the east of Taumarunui Station on the Wanganui River, is named Kornakoriki Block. The second block of land, Rangitoto Tuhua, includes the Ongarue railway station and a millsite just north of it, but lies to the east, adjacent to the railway line. Description: A sale plan of Rural lands for sale by ballot in the Wharepapa and Ranginui Survey districts annotated with the names of successful purchasers, 1912. Drawn by Lands and Survey Auckland for the Auckland Crown Lands Commissioner. Base maps of rural lands open for sale or selection in terms of the Land Act, 1908, in the Wharepapa and Ranginui Survey Districts. The boundaries of farm blocks in these districts are prominently outlined, some coloured and the majority include acreages, owners' names and applicable dates handwritten in each section. Native and forest reserves, creamery and school sites, a township, possibly known as Waipari, and tracks are marked. The Mangarata, Wairakei, Punui and Te Hue Streams and the Aotearoa, Wairakei, Wharepunanga and Mangawheo Roads are named, as is the Taupo Track. Directions are given to several settlements including Wharepuhanga, Otorohanga, Tautori and Taumarunui. Some sections include Gazetteer numbers. Includes trig points and relief is shown. Three cuttings relating to the Wharepapa Survey District, Otorohanga County and one cutting related to discharged soldiers in Wharepapa Survey District, West Taupo County are all mounted adjacent to the map. Each cutting has handwritten information including the poster number, dates and 3rd. class which refers to the quality of the land. The base map is of farm sections in the Wharepapa and Ranginui survey districts, Auckland Land District No. 1114. A schedule of these districts include the valuations, acreages and rent. Instructions to applicants and a caution follow with the printed name of H.M. Skeet, Commissioner of Crown Lands. Includes an abstract of conditions of purchase. A statement on the left side of the map begins with '22,153 acres'. Includes the application date of 25 March 1912 at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland. Includes references to 'native owners'. The map on the reverse has a reference key about preferences to landless applicants, for the variously coloured sections. Description: Sketch map of land subdivisions located on the Taratahi Plain Block (6), Tiffin Survey District, on the outskirts of the township of Carterton, bordered on the right side of the map by Cemetery Line [probably Chester Road], on the left side by Bambery Line, to Smithson's trig station at the top of the map and to the Wellington to Masterton Road [Main Road] at the bottom of the map. Shows property boundaries, with land acreage, block numbers and identifies land owners or occupiers. Names include Fuller, Archer, F. Parker, Parker, Spratt, Morgan, Sewell, Hardy, Booth, W. Parker, S. Parker, Nathan, Bishop, Gasken, Stevens, Anderson, Petersen, Andrews, Butler, Christy, Fensham, Krosp, Allen, Zabell, Page, Kempton, Shaw, Reid, Walker , Burgess, Smith, roberts, Walden, Ray, Nicholson, Challis, Wilder, and Burnett. Description: The first map is a plan of Turangawaewae Marae, Waikato, showing the pa site, including Turongo House, Mahingarangi House, Kimi-kimi Dining Hall, octagon office, flag poles, recreation grounds and lawns. Arrows from the river road to Hamilton East go through and lead out of the pa. The second map is partly a locality map, but also includes numbered sections, with acreages, west and southwest of Turangawaewae, while arrows show movement through the pa. Description: A sale plan of Rural lands for sale by ballot in the Hurakia and Ongarue Survey districts annotated with the names of successful purchasers, 1920. Drawn by Lands and Survey Auckland for the Auckland Crown Lands Comissioner. Comprises two maps of similar size, 'Hurakia Survey District, sections in Block V' and 'Ongarue Survey District, sections in Blocks V, VI, IX and X'. Both maps are in Auckland Land District no. 1377, and depict lands open for sale or lease to discharged soldiers under the Discharged Settlement Act, 1915. Both indicate numbered sections and including acreages, owner's names and dates handwritten in each section. The map also has a small locality plan of the area from Helensville to Waiouru. The map includes several paragraphs of text stating conditions of sale, information about the 'second class land', instructions to applicants, and abstract of conditions. The cadastral map of the Hurakia Survey District depicts the handwritten names MJ Dynan, WM Peterson, J Sheely, WK Wilton, and identifies the timber reserve as Provincial State Forest 'Gaz. 1922 p. 1634. Description: Eight (8) maps drawn on base diazo maps of Kapiti Coast and Horowhenua townships, showing electricity reticulation information. Some maps contain two maps, as noted. The maps are: 1 - Tokomaru Township reticulation; 2 - Manawatu Foxton Heads reticulation; 4 - Ōhau Township reticulation [and] Manakau reticulation; 5 - Waimeha Township reticulation [and] Waikanae Township; 6 - Paraparaumu Beach [and] Tasman Beach Ōtaki. 7 - Paraparaumu Township reticulation; [8 & 9] - Raumati Beach S.D. [and] Renown and Kawatiri beaches with extensions, reticulation (on same sheet); 10 - Paekākāriki Township. Each map has annotated information drawn on a diazo print that shows township layouts with numbered sections and roads. Maps have annotated drawings showing reticulation work being linked up between the road and the individual sections. Many of the sections include an annotated owner's name, a number, or both. Several of the maps list the owner's names and associated section numbers alongside the map. The bound maps cover acts as a title page, and lists ten named maps, numbered 1-10. Note map no. 3 Waitarere & Hokio Beaches, is missing. Map no. 8 and 9 (Raumati Beach A & B and Renown & Kawatiri Beaches) are on the same (unnumbered) map.
