Description: A can label for Peacock's greengage and apple jam. Shows illustrations of various fruits including strawberries, raspberries, peaches, gooseberries and cherries. In the centre, a peacock stands perched on a branch with an ornamental fountain behind it. At the right is the Star trademark and logo: "They that be wise shall shine". Description: Top two labels show the same scene of Mt Taranaki, framed between a Maori whare and a cabbage tree (probably based on Allom's lithograph of Heaphy's view of Mt Egmont). As well there are decorative panels of an Oriental style. Bottom label shows a view of the central mountain plateau, with a ship coming into harbour in the foreground. This view is flanked by pictures of a cabbage tree and a tree fern. There is a picture of a ship at the mouth of a port (possibly the mouth of the Whanganui River) on the other half of the label. Description: Marlborough Rabbit Trapping and Meat Export Co label shows a sailing ship being loaded in a port at the right, and a still life arrangement of fruit with fish, pheasant (?) and rabbit at left. The borders are decorative. The S Kirkpatrick label is a generic one with a space for the specific food contained. It has floral and decoative motifs.
