Description: `Share the dream; six months on the drier line at Fisher & Paykel' is an account of Lusk's experiences as a temporary worker prior to possible selection as a permanent employee. He describes the company's adherence to total quality management, the techniques employed to gain a cohesive and biddable work force, and his own experiences as he underwent selection and rejection. The piece has been used as the basis of a TV play, and was made a media release but only published by a few political papers. Lusk also analyses the media treatment of his article. Lusk also compares factory pay and conditions in New Zealand and countries where factories have relocated and describes the part unions play in fitting in with management Source of title - Supplied Lusk wrote the article following his experiences at Fisher & Paykel and eventually it became the basis of a play for Montana Sunday Theatre in 1997 with the script written by Dean Parker.
