Description: Digital cartoons by Sharon Murdoch that relate to or illustrate political and social aspects of life in New Zealand, published mainly in the Christchurch Press and the Sunday Star Times from 2010 onward, and also in the Dominion Post. Also includes examples of Murdoch's word puzzle cartoons featuring Munro the ginger cat, which are published in Fairfax publications. Part of the New Zealand Cartoon Archive Sharon Murdoch, born 1960, is a Wellington-based editorial cartoonist. In the 1990s, she was part of the Wellington Media Collective, and is currently resident cartoonist for the Sunday Star Times as well as having her work published in all of the Stuff major dailies. Murdoch was a finalist for the Canon Media Awards in 2014 and 2015, and winner of the Canon Media Awards Cartoonist of the Year in 2016, 2017 and 2018. She also publishes her work regularly on Twitter using the handle @domesticanimal.
