Description: Steam locomotive 166, Wg class, type 4-6-4T, built by NZR Hillside. Photograph taken by Albert Percy Godber in 1910 at the Petone Railway Workshops. This engine entered service on 4 August 1910 and was written off in May 1953. (Information from the 'Register of New Zealand Steam Locomotives 1863-1971' by W G Lloyd, 1974, page 50.) Description: "Ud" 365, a Ud steam locomotive, type 4-6-0, built by Baldwin, photographed by Albert Percy Godber at Paekakariki in 1909. A print from this negative is at PA1-q-101 (Godber Album vol 108, page 51) This engine was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works, Philadelphia (maker's no 24087/04). It was originally Wellington and Manawatu Railway Co. locomotive no. 20, (WMR 20), which entered service on 7 December 1904, became NZR "Ud" 465 when the Manawatu Railway was acquired by the Government, and was written off 31 March 1931.
