Description: Surveyed cadastral map of Whangaipeke Maori land block, an area of 6222 acres, in the Piopiotea and Maungaku survey districts, southwest of Lake Taupo. Area is bounded by the Wanganui River in the south, the Waipari, Pokaka, and Torakumekume streams in the north, and by Taurewa, Pukepoto, Hohotaka, and Ruamata in the east. Shows survey measurements, rivers (including the Wanganui River), Maori placenames, land block numbers, topographical features, tracks and whare. Description: Cadastral map with topographical markings, showing in red ink the proposed Kakahi - Lake Taupo Railway, in the Whangaipeke Block, Piopiotea and Mangaku survey districts, southwest of Taupo. The railway runs along the Wanganui River, past the mill site at Te Rena, near Kopakituna and Papanui and the Whakapapa River. Map also names Maori tracks, streams, clearings, and other places.
