Another man is only partially in the shot and he is also watching and holding a glass of beer. Taken by John Dobree Pascoe on Saturday 23 September 1944. Original caption reads: "Others play the uproarious 'forty-fives', a card game impossible of definition, where the five of the trump suit beats all other cards. This game is wholly characteristic of Buller mining communities."
