The farmer tells them that the new popularity of Dipton as a tourist destination is due to 'Good ol' Bill!' who has 'put us on the map even though he doesn't live here!' A roadside sign reads 'Welcome to Double Dipton Home of Bill English'. Refers to news that Bill English was claiming nearly $1000 a week to live in his family house in Wellington in spite of fact that the English's family trust owns the $1.2 million house in Karori; he claims his real home is in Dipton.
