Description: The diary describes an expedition from New Plymouth to Waitara and on to Wanganui. McLean describes the Maori settlements visited and the native meetings he attended. Among those he met was the chief Te Heu Heu. All is interspersed with religious reflections. There is a drawing of a kiwi (and he mentions capturing two on the expedition).
