Description: Shows a bird's-eye view of the company's premises at Custom Street West, Auckland, with the Joinery and Box Departments at the left, and the head office at the right. The two sections are joined by an overhead walkway. The far left shows sailing ships tied up at the wharves. In the foreground are neat piles of sawn timber, and in the wide corridor between the buildings, horses and carts move with their loads of timber. Message on verso to Mr J Swan, Sailors' Home, Auckland, from SS "Sterling", Aratapu, Kaipara, says: Dear Joe, This job is A1, I have been looking out for you regards job, & skipper says he will let me know soon, there are always jobs going here. I wrote to Grant about my box of clothes [...], will you kindly give them over to Mr Grant's care, I will come over end of month. You will see to this won't you, as I do not want to loose them.
