Description: Five base maps of the Adelaide Road and King Street industrial area, Newtown, Wellington have been used to show the conversion of residential and multiple small industrial units to two industrial enterprises based there in 1950 approximately. Myrtle Crescent, Drummond and Hansen streets are named. Plan No. T.P. 111 - 4/68 shows the existing conditions of residential and industrial occupancy. A reference key details the number of residential units and persons. The industrial reference key lists street addresses, names of occupiers and volume of floor space. Occupants include slipper factory, plumber, bank agency, grocer, furniture factory, metal spinner, carrier's depot, ladies tailors. Also named is a section of vacant Crown Land and W.C.C. sub-station. Pencilled additions are of a reclamation area, Wellington City Council sections, Tramway Hotel, site of a new building, also the names Spincraft, East, Harte.
