Description: A flat area is marked out with roads and town blocks. Accompanied by a woman a group of children walk across a pedestrian crossing. Behind them a child in a pedal car waits and other children watch. In the background children can be seen along the edges of the marked out area. Photograph taken in February 1957 by Morrie Hill. Scourse of decriptive information - A Library client has identified this event as part of the Karori School centenary in 1957. Information recieved in January 2007. Description: View of Te Aro, Wellington, looking towards Buckle Street and Mount Cook. The photographer has taken the view from an upper story looking over the houses. In the foreground is a neigbouring roof, and beyond a yard in which is parked a horse and cart. A line of washing is visible in another yard. Beyond the houses are the buildings of Mount Cook School (replaced 1925 by a brick and stucco building). In the left background can be seen the Buckle Street Police Station. The lower slopes of Mount Cook take up the background. Photographed by Ivor Berg in about 1924. According to Ivor Berg's sister, Thelma France, at the time this photograph was taken, Berg was working for a coffin maker. Description: Ethel Curtis (left), and Margaret Battersby with Nathan Wise and Fiona Leggat, at Wadestown School, Wellington, New Zealand. Photographed by an Evening Post staff photographer on the 18th of August 1981. Ethel Curtis and Margaret Battersby were former senior teachers of junior classes at Wadestown School. They were visiting the school in relation to its' centenary in October 1981. Miss Battersby, 94, was Miss Curtis' teacher for her first few years as a Wadestown School pupil, and taught there from 1909 until her retirement in 1933. Miss Curtis returned several times to teach, the last of them for 10 years before her retirement in 1969. Quantity: 1 b&w original negative(s).
