Description: Cartoon shows four vignettes: a Railways worker clearing the rocks on the Paekakariki line, Labour Party members dancing as they reach high for the ball of "Party leadership", an employer and a worker both twisting the arms of an Arbitration Court judge, and Keith Holyoake dancing with Timaru and Buller (electorates where there were 1962 by-elections) and in the process hitting Buller in the face with a suitcase labelled "Budget". Description: "Tr" class shunting locomotive, New Zealand Railways no TR 1, photographed at the Petone railway workshops in July 1924 by A P Godber. Reproduced in "Cavalcade of New Zealand locomotives" by A N Palmer & W W Stewart (p 133), with caption '"Tr" 1 shunting at Petone Workshops, about 1925. A P Godber (NZR)'. This locomotive was constructed at Petone in July 1924, from a standard Fordson 22hp tractor attached to a patent underframe supplied by the Adamson Motor Company of Birmingham, Alabama. It was used for light shunting in various parts of the North Island until the 1940s. Source: "Cavalcade of New Zealand Locomotives", by A N Palmer & W W Stewart. "Ww" class steam locomotive no 679 was built at New Zealand Railways at Hillside, Dunedin (maker's no. 210/19). Description: Image showing the strength of a new electric headlight. It was the first electric headlight used on a steam locomotive, and was placed on "Aa" 648 at the Petone Workshops in June 1921. Photographed by Albert Percy Godber. Dated from an original print from this negative, filed in Godber Album Vol 109, p 146 (PA1-q-102), with the inscription "An electric headlight on A locomotive. 6/21", with in pencil "Pyle-National". Also MNZ Print (MNZ-2033-1/2). Note on back of file print reads "Dated 1921 on MNZ print, captioned 1st electric headlight placed on class Aa loco. no. 648 at Petone Workshops".
