Description: View of the memorial fountain and statue of Sir John Logan Campbell at the Manukau Road entrance to Cornwall Park. The statue depicts Sir John in mayoral robes, holding the Deed of Gift. A wreath can be seen laid at the base of the statue. The fountain and statue are surrounded by a metal fence. Mount St John Domain is in the distance. Photograph taken by William A Price, possibly on the death of Sir John Logan Campbell, Jun 1912. Inscriptions: Photographer's title on negative - bottom left - Cornwall Park. Auckland. 709 The fountain and statue were erected at the Manukau Road entrance to Cornwall Park by public subscription in appreciation of the donor's generosity. Description: Photograph taken by David Alexander De Maus, of a painting by E B Hayward, depicting the SS Wairarapa, wrecked on Great Barrier Island, 29 October 1894. Date and location of the original painting are unknown. The photograph is in the form of a montage created by De Maus, with photographs of three stewardesses who died, a photograph of the monument erected by the stewardesses of the Union Steam Ship Company, and his own titles, inserted around the painting. Description: View of Auckland Town Hall taken from Queen Street with the statue of Sir George Grey on the left and Grey Street on the right. A large crowd is gathered and all are looking towards the photographer. On the right is a horse and cart with a number of young men standing on board, some with cards in their hatbands. The reason for the gathering is not indicated but it may have been to listen to speeches by a politican or trade unionist.
