Description: A road cut into a cliff on the left, with a man and a dog walking around the corner. In the foreground, a ford crossing the river and tall trees on both sides, possibly beech trees. The Library also holds the preliminary drawing for this view, in pencil and sepia ink, (B-007-016). The preliminary drawing lacks the man and dog, and the trees are rather less lush.
