Description: Sketches show: James Gordon Stuart Grant (a politician), Bandy Harry (shoe-shine), Solly Solomon (probable the lawyer Saul Solomon), Sir --- Chapman (his wife built a memorial to him down from statue of Robbie Burns - probably Sir Frederick Revans Chapman), and two other unknown characters, one a man at table with crutches, the other possibly holding a begging bowl. One sketch dated 1895 is the basis for dating these works. Inscriptions: Two works have some inscription. Quantity: 6 drawing(s) stuck on both sides of 3 cards.. Physical Description: Pencil, size varies within 150 x 100mm. Provenance: Artist worked on the newspaper in Dunedin, and gave the sketches to the donor's father.
