Description: Menus for a set breakfast menu. Each has a different "scene in the Southern Alps" on the cover. These include: Mt Cook and the Hooker Glacier, The Hochstetter Icefall, Mt Cook from Red Lake Mt Sebastopol, Mt Sefton and the Stocking Glacier. Two sets held. Dated 1930s because the phrase "thousands of feet above worry level" was being used on posters at that time. Quantity: 4 colour photo-mechanical print(s). At the time the photographs were taken Thomas Fisher was the proprietor of the Provincial Hotel and E Dunn was the proprietor of the Royal Tiger. Photographer unidentified but it may be Hall Raine. Description: Photographs taken by Maurice Henry Hayward while on a work relief scheme on the Chatham Islands building a new wharf at Waitangi. Included are views of Waitangi and its principle buildings, the Post Office, the hotels and the radio station. Also depicted is race day, bullock teams, horses hauling wool bales on sledges, sheep waiting at Waitangi Wharf, human bones, Tommy Solomon's funeral, a shipwreck, the countryside, and coastal views. Throughout the album are images of the old wharf at Waitangi, and the new one under construction and finally completed. There is a record of a tramping and hunting trip made by three or four men, one of whom was Hayward, and two interior views of the living quarters for the relief workers. Some photographs show the men riding horses, and dressed as cowboys or tough looking seamen. Quantity: 1 album(s) Album(s).

Description: A collection of postcards and printed views (possibly from a magazine) of New Zealand scenes primarily of towns and cities rather than scenic views. They include one of two Maori women washing clothes at Rotorua, another of the Royal visit in 1927 and a family group of seven men and three women possibly taken in Belfast. A number of the postcards have been used. Also included are five original photographs which have been captioned with the family connections: a soldier in uniform, possibly named Ralph Ferguson; Uncle Henry Babe's wedding photograph; cousin Violet Bradford in America; Albert and Elizabeth (Eliza) Babe (brother and sister) and four others; Thomas and Fanny Babe (grandpa and grandma) with Eliza, Harold, Albert, Olivia, Queenie and Gladys. The image which is probably Timaru is identified in the negative accession register as Rotheram but this town is inland and near neither a lake nor a river therefore this is not likley to be correct.
