Description: View of the Globe Hill Mine near Inangahua, photographed by William Archer Price circa 1910. Shows the old Globe shaft. The old Globe shaft became known as the Progress Mines Ltd 'A' shaft after Consolidated Goldfields of NZ took over and combined the Globe and Progesss mines in 1896. It was about 200m from the Progress or 'B' shaft seen in 1/2-001894. The old underground mines were being opencast by Oceana Gold Ltd in 2007. Source of descriptive information - Notes on file print.
