Description: Sheep mustering on a sheep farm near Ruatoria. Looks across (a dam?) towards a group of sheep on a hill, shepherds on horseback, and an expanse of sky. Photograph taken circa 1940 for the Weekly News. Photographer unidentified. Published in 'Making New Zealand' Vol 1, No 7, page 3 Making New Zealand caption reads: "Shepherds mustering a flock of sheep on a North Island run. New Zealand, intended as an agricultural colony, proved to have thousands of acres of natural pasture. That grass springs thoughout the year is of great value in fattening stock."
